Genre: DJ Tools
Format: LP Vinyl

Note: This is the LP vinyl version! For CD, go here: Bridgetown Breaks Volume 2 CD.

Bridgetown Breaks Records is proud to offer a second helping of original, live drumming for all DJs, producers, and music aficionados.  BRIDGETOWN BREAKS VOL. 2 is a collection of original drum tracks from 10 of Portland, Oregon's freshest drummers.  Vol. 2 asks the question:  What can you do with open drum tracks from the likes of Kevin Robinson of Viva Voce, Danny Seim of Menomena, Jazz prodigy Drew Shoals, and seven other of Portland's best drummers?

The idea is simple, we provide drum tracks of the utmost quality for you to sample and re-arrange to your heart's content.  It's the twenty-first century and music is no longer something to just listen to, it's participatory again.  You get over 30 tracks of creative drumming that range from the traditional breaks of Kevin Robinson of Viva Voce to the avant-garde jazz solos of Sam Schauer of Modernstate, to the indy-rock stylings of Pt. Juncture Washington's Amanda Spring.  BRIDGETOWN BREAKS VOL. 2 is a functional tool for not only hip-hop producers, but all genres of sample-based musicians.

BRIDGETOWN BREAKS VOL. 2 features the drumming of Kevin Robinson (Viva Voce), Danny Seim (Menomena), Amanda Spring (Pt. Juncture Washington), Drew Shoals (Fiction Junkies, Chris Mosely Trio), Paul Alcott (Binary Dolls, Dat'r), Mike McKinnon (Wet Confetti), Kevin O'Connor (Talkdemonic), Charles Neal (Quivah), Sam Schauer (Modernstate, Humans, ...Worms) and beat-boxer Fogatron (Luminous Fog, Manic-D and Fogatron).  BBv2 is available on both CD and vinyl.

And because this is a production tool as well as a breaks record, we include each drummer's kit separated out in a special one-hits section, along with vintage analog synth scratch tones.

BRIDGETOWN BREAKS VOL. 2 follows on the heels of BRIDGETOWN BREAKS VOL. 1, building on a solid idea and bringing it further.  Vol. 1 has met with tremendous success.  Two of its tracks were featured in the recent Fox Searchlight film, Thank You for Smoking. Portland producer and musician, Boy Eats Drum Machine, sampled Vol. 1 extensively on his 2005 release, Pleasure.  A year out from it's initial release and Vol. 1 is still garnering media attention and worldwide distribution.

BRIDGETOWN BREAKS VOL. 2 was produced by Pluto and Main Sequence and recorded and mixed by Jon Cohrs at Type Foundry and Jackpot! studios in Portland, OR.
