Multi-talented chanteuse Janelle Monáe was signed to Bad Boy after a series of scene-stealing guest appearances on Outkast's Idlewild and Big Boi's Got Purp? mixtape series. Her debut EP, Metropolis: The Chase Suite, was one of the more hotly anticipated R&B releases of 2008 and boasts the same stylistic adventurousness and mind boggling eclecticism characteristic of fellow Atlanta artists like Outkast and TLC.
