S.E.V.A. is the production team of Matthew "Mumbles" Fowler and Dahvin "Gone Beyond" Bugas. They inject world elements and spiritual movements to hip-hop, producing a wide range of drum-based jazz compositions.  Mumbles is best known for the landmark album, A Book of Human Language with Project Blowed emcee Aceyalone, after the success of which, he took several years to travel abroad and study religion, philosophy, meditation, and devotional music.  He returned and found a production partner with similar ideals in Santa Fe's Gone Beyond.  Utilizing obscure rhythms, textures and melodic loops to create thoughtful and conceptually cohesive music, they have decided to release their take on instrumental hip-hop to the public.

Mumbles and Gone Beyond chose to call their contemplative hip-hop/jazz album S.E.V.A. (Spirit Evolves Via Awareness), after the Sanskrit word meaning selfless service.  In traditional spiritual philosophy, selfless service performed with dedication, alertness, enthusiasm, and with the upliftment, progress, and harmony of mankind in mind is seen as a path to enlightenment and spiritual fulfillment.  Mumbles and Gone Beyond have compiled this album with love, compassion, and selfless service as their keynote intentions.  They are donating portions of their proceeds from the sales of this album to charitable causes.
